This is blue bean’s very first student book review, which talks about “Educated” by Tara Westover.

As March comes to a close, I would like to look back at all the books I have read recently, and choose my most favorite read for this month’s March Mayhem Pick. This is a book I urge everyone to pick up. I rarely start a book and become so enraptured in it that I can’t put it down, but that magical moment happened with this book where I looked up and realized it was dark outside. My March Mayhem book pick is “Educated” by Tara Westover.

The book opens up startlingly with Tara and her family preparing for the end of the world, and slowly readers are submerged into the tumultuous life of Tara’s family, survivalists born in the mountains of Idaho who don’t believe in medicine or education. At the age of seventeen, Tara fights to step into a classroom for the very first time, and then, led by her newfound insatiable passion for learning, she finds herself at some of the top universities in the world. If you’re looking for your next favorite book, don’t hesitate to start this beautiful book. It’s even better than all your relatives have been telling you it is.

During this time of quarantine, make sure to pick up a good book, especially Educated!

Take care, and stay safe!
